The State has good network of roads having excellent
connectivity with most villages. The total road length during 2005-06 in
Kerala is 160944 KMs. Road density in the State is 414 KM / 100 Sq KM
and it is far ahead of national average of 74.9 KM per 100 Sq KM. The
length of road per lakh population is 505.46 KM and it is much higher
than the national average of 259.20 KM. Kerala is the only State in the
country where all the villages are connected by Road. In Kerala major
roads are constructed and maintained by PWD, Municipalities,
Corporations, Panchayats etc. |
