The Small
Entrepreneur Promotion and Training Institute, Ettumanur, functioning
under the Development Commissioner, SSI, Ministry of Small Scale
Industries, Govt. of India has been set up in 1999 with the avowed
objective to train unemployed youth of the State in various technical
disciplines and also to inculcate an entrepreneurial culture among them.
The Institute is located near Ettumanur Railway Station in the
Industrial Estate, Ettumannur.
Since its inception,
this Institute has been conducting different types of Skill Development
Training Programmes to candidates drawn from all over the State through
Training Facility Centres (TFCs). The Institute could give training to
more than four thousand participants during the short period of
existence and majority of them could either start their own venture or
got employment in India and Abroad. At present, the Institute conducting
the following in house training programmes. All the programmes are
scientifically planned and offerent at an affordable cost.
1) Aluminium Fabrication
2) Mobile Phone Servicing
3) Computer Hardware & Net Working
4) Garment Making and Computerised Fashion Designing
5) Computer Applications like Autocad,
DEO, DTP, MSO, Photoshop etc.
Apart from the above
in house training programmes, the Institute is organising Skill Oriented
Entrepreneur Development Programmes throughout the State of Kerala on
the following topics:
1) Advanced
EDP on Fire Fighting
Technology
2) Welding Technology
3) Panchakarma Therapy & Feminine Beauty Techniques
4) Computerised Financial Accounting
5) Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
All the programmes
are scientifically planned and offerent at an affordable cost. It may be
noted that besides practicals and theory, specific entrepreneurship
training subjects, namely Project Report Preparation, Role & Functions
of DIC in SSI Sector, setting up of SSI units, Financial Assistance from
HBanks & Other Agencies, Achievement Motivation, Sales Tax Rules,
Accountancy & Book Keeping, Personnel Management and Labour Rules, form
essential part of the curriculum for all our courses.
