The RUDSET Institutes
are non-governmental organisations (NGOs) sponsored by the Sri
Dharmasthala Manjunateshwara Educational Trust, Syndicate Bank and
Canara Bank. The jurisdiction of the RUDSET Institute at Udupi also
includes Uttara Kannada and Shimoga districts. RUDSET Institutes aim to
help the youth in rural areas to acquire productive skills, which would
make them financially independent. Zealous youngsters of 18 to 35 years
of age, with basic educational qualifications are the ideal candidates
for the training courses provided by the RUDSETI. The training courses
dwell on theoretical and practical aspects and are conducted free of
cost. Lodging and boarding facilities are also provided to the
candidates during the training programme.
Besides training, the RUDSET Institute lays special emphasis on the
Entrepreneurial Development Programme (EDP) compulsory for all the
courses. The trainee is taught the ways and means of managing a small
business and his customers. |

The training programme
of the Institute is unique because it has maintained close contact with
the trainees two years since the completion of their training. Thus,
feedback and follow-up has helped the Institute to continuously improve
its methods. Whenever necessary, the Institute also stepped in to help
