The Institute advises prospective entrepreneurs in selecting new ventures, in preparing project Profiles, selecting suitable machinery, designing factory layout, jigs, fixtures, dies, tools etc. The Institute also prepares Technical Reports, Directories, Feasibility Reports etc for the benefit of MSMEs. 

The Institute undertakes technical inspection for Enlistment under Central Government Stores Purchase Programme for the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC).
